Do your words and actions portray there is a famine of God's Word, Gospel, in your life? Question: Do you know what God's answer would be to your greatest need? Do you even know your greatest need? Would God and you agree on your greatest need? "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory." Philippians 4:19 Nuggets of Truth: God has promised to meet all, not some, but all your needs according to His riches in glory. So are you willing to go to God for your needs or will you seek to fulfill your needs on your own or through taking advantage of another person? Are you willing to come into agreement with God on your greatest need? Every person's greatest need is the gospel whether they admit it or not and ultimately determines their very life. Because with the gospel, Jesus bridged the sin gap between each person and Almighty God. Jesus cried out on the Cross, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me." Psalm 22:1 God forsook Jesus so the sin debt would be completely paid off and be finished. "When Jesus had received the sour wine," He said, "It is finished." And bowing His head, He yielded up His spirit. John 19:30 Nuggets of Truth: Jesus fully finished paying the Sin Debt with His life for each sinful person, the only person, Jesus, fully divine and fully human, born of a virgin as God in the flesh who lived a sinless earthly life and only did exactly what God told Jesus to do! Of the myriad of things God instructed Jesus to do, the culmination of His life happened on the Cross where He became sin and the Father God departed Jesus presence and that's the very reason Jesus was worthy to fulfill His commission from God. Have you accepted Jesus provision for your sinful life? "For all have sinned and fall short of the the glory of God." Romans 3:23 Jesus purpose of dying for all sin is to offer each person the opportunity to accept His death, burial and resurrection truth through the Gift of the Holy Spirit whose work is to keep each person's life in alignment with Almighty God. With a person's words and actions they daily engage in building or destroying their relationship with God/Jesus/Holy Spirit and people. Would Almighty God say you are a builder or a destroyer? The ministry work of Jesus Christ through believers is to continue to undo the works of darkness by their God ordained authority to accept their responsibility to rule over God's creation! Do not be afraid of the darkness because to God there is still light in the darkness because God who is Light is present in the darkness, and there is no absolute darkness with His presence. Ask God to reveal to you if you are engaging in any works of darkness/sin through your words and actions? Yes or No? Yes, confess and repent. No, good you are living according to the Way, the Truth, the Life. Today, reflect back on the first day you knew God without a doubt in your mind. The first day I knew God's presence was August 21, 1963. Why this day in my life would God choose to reveal Himself to me? This night after going to bed and praying to God this simple prayer, "God if you are God Almighty and you can do anything you want, then, why don't you do something about my evil, wicked dad." After praying to God, I went to sleep and awakened in the middle of the night to clean our home. My mom got up and said, "Sherry, why are you cleaning house?" I said, "We are having company tomorrow!" My mom said, "We are not having company, stop cleaning and go to bed." I said, "Oh yes we are having company tomorrow and as soon as I finish cleaning, I will go to bed." Next morning, I awakened to the sound of crying, I knew immediately that my dad had died." I could not cry over my dad dying because I knew in my heart that God had heard the prayer of a little girl and took action. Then, during the 1980's, I read Healing of Damaged Emotions and Making Peace With Your Past. I experienced flashback memories of my childhood. God used those memories to start a healing journey in my heart! This healing journey led to me forgiving my dad and mom and God started reparenting me as His adopted daughter. Thank you, God.
